Tips for a Spring TableScape

Welcoming the first spring weekend of April with this Spring Tablescape full of pastel colored flowers, fresh herbs, with an assortment of vases and planter pots.

Having a variety of different shaped white vases are a great buy when investing in vases for your home (mine are from Pier 1 Imports). They can be paired with different style vase and a variety of colors for different seasons. Every flower that has been in these vases looked fantastic, chic, and went with any theme and style space!

Table, Chairs and Fixture Specifics:

This beautiful wooden farmhouse table with matching bench was custom made and hand crafted by a lovely couple in McKinney, Texas. I’m loving everything they are doing. They are so inspiring! Check them out at The Iman Project.

For the chairs, three Folio Side Chairs in Stone / Light Grey – Crate &Barrel with the Martha Washington Arm Side Chair- Ethan Allen give a classic fresh look. I finished the the seating space with the gray colored Barret Rug 9 X 12 – Pottery Barn and the Norwell Linear Cage Pendent in Polish Nickel – Lighting ETC. I love this rug for under the table because of it tight hand knotted look, which makes it easy to clean and gives s soft fresh look. I enjoy a simple table, chair and bench combo because it is easy to decorate for everyday as well as seasonal!

The next time you are shopping for a table remember that choosing simple chairs and table will leave your color palettes open to picking a variety of colors for your everyday and seasonal center pieces.

A Few Flower Tips:

Picking flowers can be very fun and quite simple. However, for beginners, take a step back, view the theme and colors of the space. Choose a single color flower to fill the vase that will compliment the space to allow the flowers to stand out. To make this a little more complex, added different textures of the same color to your arrangement.

To make your flowers last longer, trim the stems (at least a 1/2 inch) and change the water (with new flower food) in your vase every other day the first 2-3 days after you bought and arranged them. This will help to double the life of your flowers. Don’t forget to ask for extra flower food packages!

Adding a little sparkling water, tonic water, club soda, even sprite helps to add a little extra oxygen to your flowers helping them live a little longer. I usually do this when my flowers are about a week old.
